For emergencies, I have several cases of drinking water stored in various areas of my home. I also have seven gallons of water in repurposed milk cartons stored in my basement. This is my necessity water: washing, cleaning, flushing, etc. I use one each day for any plants, indoor and out, that need watered. By labeling them with a day of the week, I keep track of which one needs to be refilled. It’s not a lot of water set aside, but it’s better than having none at all.
Sometimes browsing the Internet and reading too many survival blogs and books can cause a kind of paralyzation in me that I laughingly call “Preparanoia.” Still, to have a supply of food and water on hand, in case of emergency, is never a bad thing.
