Plants, Paintings & Pleasures – Roses

My roses are waning. They are dropping their leaves and developing rose hips in preparation for their winter sleep. In the next week or two I will use leftover potting soil from discarded potted plants to make a mound around their root crowns. This should protect them from freezing temperatures.

I love to paint my roses in watercolors. I take garden photographs for reference. I post many of these on the Flickr and WetCanvas websites. You can find links to these sites at the upper right of this page.
