The pain: this time of year is always a bit bittersweet. I like the beauty of the colorful Autumn leaves, but when they are finished their glorious display, it leaves a sense of barrenness.
The geese were flying overhead today. They don’t seem to go south anymore; they are able to sustain their existence in the farmer’s fields and the cover crops sown there.
My garden is about bloomed out. Today I took a picture of this last rose on one of my Mr. Lincoln rose bushes. It is putting on a valiant effort, but the rain, wind and cool temperatures are marring it’s petals.
The pleasure: the good thought on the horizon: garden catalogs might begin to arrive at any time. Hooray! It’s always good to look forward to a new blooming season. I also am very excited about Winter Sowing this year, but that will be another post.
