The house tends to get stale smelling at this time of year. I don’t want to spray aerosols in the house and have chemicals settle in the rug, furniture and our lungs. The solution is natural essential oils in a diffuser. I found these two at GNC. The grapefruit is light and fruity, and the cinnamon-cassia is woodsy and yummy. They are not inexpensive, but definitely worth every penny, and they last a long time. I add about three drops of Grapefruit and one drop of Cinnamon-Cassia to the water in the diffuser and place a tea-light underneath. This gives me hours of fresh air and as an added bonus also gives the rooms a bit of humidity.
One note of caution: Cinnamon-Cassia can irritate nasal passages if inhaled directly. One drop is plenty. Also, this essential oil can cause irritation if it is applied to the skin.
