I like to post old pictures to blogs now and then. If I include tags it sometimes leads me to family members who are very far-removed, but still descended from the same people at some point in time. The sweet couple above were my paternal great-grandparents, Henry Peter Davis and Mary C. Oakley Davis. They lived in these areas: Reed Creek and Martinsville, in Henry County, Virginia. On the Davis side of my family the line has been traced back to the 1600′s in Maryland, and before that to England and Wales. Mary was taken from this life in the great flu epidemic of 1917/18. Henry lived to be in his 60′s.
